The Greenbrier Classic is a PGA Tour golf tournament that was played for the first time in 2010 on The Old White TPC at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.[1] It replaced the long standing Buick Open that was played in Flint, Michigan on the tour schedule.
In the inaugural year, Stuart Appleby shot a fourth-round 59, the fifth in PGA Tour history, to win the tournament by one stroke.
On the PGA Tour this week, the Greenbrier Classic, which is a tournament that happens July 5th through the 8th, at The Old White TPC which is in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. The purse for this tournament is $6,100,000 and it will offer a grand prize of $1,080,000 and 500 FedEx Cup points. Scott Stallings is the defending champion for this tournament and the John Deere Classic will follow, held at the TPC Deere Run in Silvas, Illinois, with a purse of $4,600,000. That event wll be July 12th through the 15th, and after that, we will see the True South Classic held.
The most recent tournament on the PGA Tour was the AT&T National, held at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, from June 28th through the 1st of July. Tiger Woods was the winner of that tournament with 500 FedEx Cup points and a grand prize of $1,170,000 up for grabs. The Field this year for the Greenbrier includes Blake Adams and Lucas Glover as well as JJ Henry and Pat Perez. D.A Points will be playing, as well as Kris Blanks and Kenny Perry. Mark Anderson, Stuart Appleby and Ricky Barnes are also on the list.
