The Montreal Championship (French: Championnat de Montréal) is a professional golf tournament on the Champions Tour. A 54-hole event, it debuted in 2010 at the Club de Golf Fontainebleau in the Montreal suburb of Blainville, Quebec, Canada. The course was a par-72 at 7,105 yards (6,497 m)[1]
For 2012, the tournament will move a week earlier in the schedule and relocate to the Vercheres course at La Vallee du Richelieu Golf Club in Sainte-Julie, Quebec
June 22nd through the 24th will be the Montreal Championship, which happens on the Champions Tour. This tournament will take place at the Valee du Richelieu Vercheres, in Sainte-Julie, Quebec in Canada, and the purse is a million, eight hundred thousand dollars. The winner last year was John Cook, winning $270,000 and the other tournaments that are coming up include the Constellation Senior Player's Championship, from June 28th through July 1st at the Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The most recent tournament on the Champion's Tour is the Regions Tradition, held at Shoal Creek in Shoal Creek, Alabama, with a $2,200,000 purse, with Tom Lehman as the winner of the June 7th through the 10th tournament. The prize for first place was $335,000. The field this year includes Fulton Allem, Lonnie Nielsen and Mark O'Meara as well as Jerry Pate, Bill Glasson and Tommy Armour III. Andy Bean, Jay Haas and Gary Hallberg will also be playing along with Dana Quigley, David Peoples and Jay Don Blake.
